Zoom up to the ninth floor of the Hotel Catalunya to see Alghero spread out before you from this backlit, glass-walled bar. The bar has a tremendous view over the rooftops and spires of the old town and the marina. Come for an aperitivo at sunset as the town lights up.

For partying on the rocks, you can't beat this seafront club at Las Tronas, a 10-minute amble south of the old town. The club really picks up at the weekends and on summer nights, when DJs spinning house keep the dance floor rammed.
