Paris Nightlife

Chilled

Rosa Bonheur
A gem with beautiful views over the Parc des Buttes Chaumont during the day and a lively crowd at night

Address: Parc des Buttes Chaumont | Telephone: 01 42 03 28 67 |

Le Mansart
A great hangout to discover trendy south Pigalle without slumming it. The modern twist on '50s décor makes your cocktail taste all the sweeter. Try beating the locals on the retro "babyfoot" table.

Address: 1 rue Mansart | Telephone: 01 4878 2277 |

Live Music

La Fleche d'Or
A nice, medium-sized venue where you can check out the latest up-and-coming international group or just chill out in the greenhouse at the back. In April, catch British rockers Palma Violets in a space where it's still possible to get close to the stage and have a decent dance.

Address: 102 Bis Rue de Bagnolet | Telephone: 01 4464 0102 |

Caveau de la Huchette
An oldie but a goodie. A very oldie, in fact: the stone-walled basement used to welcome some of the most hard-line revolutionaries back in the 18th century. Now the venue is a celebrated jazz club where dancers of all ages bop, swing and jive to international live bands.

Address: 5 Rue de la Huchette | Telephone: 01 4326 6505 |

Clubbing

Le Kremlin
It might be on the edge of Montmartre, but this bar aims to take you all the way to Russia! Try their own cut-price beer and vodka while reading the newspapers pasted all over the walls.

Address: 6 Rue Andre | Telephone: 06 0981 9359 |

Batofar
You can't miss this boat even if you're the latest of night owls: it's permanently moored opposite Quai Francois Mauriac and is helpfully painted bright red. Check out their calendar or just turn up to experience the eclectic mix of culture and music on offer, including boozy vintage sales, techno gigs and art exhibitions (batofar.org).

Address: Port de la Gare |
