The warm climate of Palma makes it a popular destination all year round. You can spend time on one of the beaches getting a tan, or strolling by the waterfront with its colourful fishing boats bobbing alongside luxurious yachts. The waterfront is dominated by the spectacular Gothic Cathedral restored in 1902 by Antoni Gaudi, the famous and controversial Catalunyan architect.
For energetic days out, you can indulge in many of the sports that abound in Palma - windsurfing, horseriding, waterskiing, golf, or spend a day at Aquacity, one of the islands largest waterparks. You may also want to try out one of the many fine restaurants by the marina and sample some of the local cuisine and finish off the evening in one of Palma's lively bars, discos and clubs.
Palma's Bay has something for everyone, from designer shops on the Avinguda del Rei Jaume Ill to gypsy markets. Or on Saturdays you can visit the Baratillo, the city's famous bustling flea market.
