About 30 minutes from the airport you will find one of the liveliest resorts on the island, Ayia Napa - the party capital of the summer! As host to some of the best bars and clubs on the island, it really comes alive at night. During the day, you can reserve your energy on one of the white sandy beaches which offer crystal blue waters.
On the beaches you will find a whole host of water sports including pedal boats, parasailing, jet skis and snorkelling.
For something a little different, why not take a jeep safari around the island? You will visit the Caledonian Falls and the Byzantine Monastery of Kykkos and experience some truly amazing sites along the way.
You can even take excursions to Jerusalem or Cairo for some extra days of sightseeing!
Not far from Ayia Napa you will find Protaras, which is a little quieter and more family orientated. You will find 2 water parks nearby which offer a fun filled day for all the family, or enjoy a stroll along the cliff tops admiring some breathtaking views. An excursion to the Troodos Mountains is also not to be missed. There are nine churches and one monastery in Troodos that are counted among UNESCO's World Heritage Sites.
You can find cuisines from all over the world in Protoras, however if you want a traditional Cypriot meal, one of the open-air seafood restaurants is the place to go. At night, many of the bars and restaurants offer live entertainment and are great places to sit with your family or friends and watch the world go by.
However, there is plenty to see and do in Larnaca itself. As one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world, it is steeped in history. The Church of Ayios Lazaros, Larnaca Medieval Museum and Ancient Kition are all places not to be missed.
Visitors can also enjoy a walk along the palm lined promenade taking in the panoramic ocean views and enjoy the reliable sunny skies on the beautiful sandy beach.
