Exploring Belfast city centre for shops can be a very pleasant experience while on a short trip to Belfast, as it boasts an excellent variety of local specialist shops and high street chain-stores. The main shopping area in the city is around Donegall Place, most of which has restricted traffic flow.
Belfast's cultural scene has leaped forward with the grand opening of the new magnificent concert and conference centre, Waterfront Hall, where major stars from all over the world perform regularly.
For a taste the history of the city, some of the city's leading museums are well worth a visit, such as the Ulster Museum, or the Ormeau Baths Gallery, which exhibits the work of artists from all over Europe.

Belfast by road
Travellers by car from Belfast reach the airport by travelling north on the M2 motorway, turning off at junction 5 and then via A57 for 7 miles to the airport. From the north and north west the route is easiest found by coming south on the M2 again to junction 5.
Belfast airport car parking
For very brief stays, use the short-term car park. The first 10 minutes are free; up to 30 minutes costs £1.40; up to one hour costs £2.40; up to 90 minutes costs £3.40; up to 2 hours costs £4.40 and every hour thereafter an additional £1.00; up to 8 hours costs £10.40; 9-24 hours costs £13.00.
For stays of 3 days or less, use the Main Stay car park which costs £5.50 per day. The Holiday car park is suitable for long term stays, and costs £18.00 for any duration between 1 and 8 days. All car parks are close to the terminal and are clearly sign-posted.

Belfast by rail
The nearest railway station is 6 miles from the airport in Antrim. There are connections to Belfast, Lisburn and Londonderry. Trains to and from Dublin are via Belfast Central Station, which has its own Airbus stop.
Details of rail times can be obtained by asking Information Desk staff. The airport may be reached by taxi from Antrim Station - journey cost is about £7.00.
Belfast by bus
The Airbus service operates between the airport and Belfast city centre every 30 minutes Monday to Saturday, and at 30 or 60 minute intervals on a Sunday. This service operates from 5.45am to 11.20pm with fares at £5.00 single and £8.00 return. Travellers returning to the airport should board at Glengall Street bus station which is just behind the famous Europa Hotel.
