Direct Entry Pilots

Our basic requirements are as follows:
  • Air Transport Pilots Licence (or frozen ATPL) (UK or JAA)

  • Class 1 Medical
  • The ability to work and reside in the EU or Switzerland depending upon your base preference
  • Under 65 years of age (our current retirement age is 65 due to European airspace regulations)
  • The ability to provide full and accurate reference information covering the last 5 years

Please note that if you hold a European National JAA licence, you will have to exchange it for a UK JAA licence before you start with us.

Entry Requirements

Direct Entry Captains need a minimum of 3,000 factored hours total and a minimum of 500 factored hours in command of a medium to heavy commercial jet (current command).

Fast-track Command is now available to First Officers with sufficient time (3,000 factored hours) to be considered. You will be assessed during your initial course for inclusion in the programme.

Non-rated Co-Pilots need a minimum of 500 hours multi-crew commercial experience on any medium to heavy jet.

Type-Rated Co-Pilots (B737 or A320 family) need a minimum of 50 hours on type

Senior First Officers (SFOs) have an unfrozen ATPL.

First Officers (FOs) have a frozen ATPL (CPL + ATPL theory).
