Here's what the guys and gals have to say about life as easyJet cabin crew....
Claire Fidge – senior cabin crew member based at London Luton

My parents first flew with easyJet in December 2000 to Palma. Mum and Dad enjoyed the flight so much, they brought home the easyJet in-flight magazine for me to read. At the time, I had just finished an Advanced GNVQ in Leisure and Tourism and was working with Stena Line Ferries doing telesales work. My parents knew it was one of my ambitions to one day be cabin crew, so they encouraged me to apply.
The application process was really quick. I sent off my application at the end of January and by the start of February I had received an invitation to attend an assessment day at Luton.
On the morning of the assessment day, I was really nervous as I travelled from Kent to Luton on the train. I arrived early to get my bearings and to have a quick look around the airport. At the time the airport was really small, which surprised me. You couldn’t miss the easyLand building however... it was bright orange!
I met our two interviewers for the day and although they told us not to be nervous, it was initially hard to relax. Everyone was really friendly though and I found it easy to be myself. The assessment day consisted of group exercises and a personal interview and it seemed to go by really quickly. Afterwards, I was happy that I had done my best and decided that what will be will be!
A week later I came home from work, and Dad had a big thick easyJet envelope in his hand. I had got the job! My parents were as pleased as I was.
So that was it. On 2nd April 2001, I left the safe environment of my family and friends and was off to Luton to start my cabin crew training course. My new life had begun.
Three years on I am now a senior cabin crew member and also part of the cabin crew recruitment team.
It still feels like only yesterday that I came to Luton for my assessment day, however now I am the one interviewing applicants! Not only have I made some fantastic friends here for life at easyJet, I have also taken advantage of the many career opportunities available within the company, something that I would encourage everyone to do.
Gavin Wilkinson – Cabin crew trainer

I joined easyJet in September 2001, after leaving the teaching profession. Although I loved working with children, I found the 9 to 5 routine boring and endless paperwork was not for me.
I had flown with easyJet a few times and thought the cabin crew were always really friendly and seemed to be enjoying themselves. I decided to apply for the position and was really surprised to be invited to attend an assessment session. I did not really think I had the employment background easyJet would be looking for, but on the day the interviewers spent time looking at the experiences and skills that I had acquired from teaching and I was delighted to be offered a job.
The training course was really interesting, and although there was a lot to learn, the trainers were really helpful - I even managed to get 100% on one of the exams! I also made some fantastic friends on the training course that I have kept in close contact with even though we all now work at different bases.
I was really scared when the time came for my very first flight as cabin crew, but the other crew were so friendly and helpful that I relaxed and enjoyed the day. I still find the excellent working relationships between the crew one of the most rewarding things about working for easyJet - it really does feel like you are part of one big family.
Although you can work really long hours at unsociable times of the day, I really enjoy coming to work. I find it fun and rewarding and I always know that I will leave with a smile on my face at the end of the day.
Apply now for cabin crew! If you have been given a reference code, please have this ready.
